EAST DIVISION

Martin Tucker - 1st Canvey Island Mayor 2016 - 2017

Hello everyone, I'm Martin Tucker one of the Town Councillors for Central Ward. I have been a Councillor for twelve years as a Borough Councillor for North Ward.

I have lived on Canvey for forty five years and my children all went to school on the Island.

I have the honour and privilege to be the first Mayor of Canvey Islands Town Council. This is something that has enabled me to meet residents both young and old, and the associations that support them.

Martin Tucker

Canvey Island Town Mayor

Building on Canvey’s Green Belt Land!

Residents of handle road canvey island were very upset when a controversial planning application on a green space next to there homes was approved by castlepoint planning committee. The vote when taken was 5 canvey independent councillors voted against 5 conservative councillors voted in favour.and canvey conservative chas Mumford abstain.leaving the chairman casting vote .the chairman conservative  benfleet councillor Simon hart voted in favour .cllr dave blackwell said this was a application which should never of been approved .this area is a critical drainage area which not taken in account by the committee also in my opinion this land is still owned by Essex county council not the person officers say .this decision has put all our green spaces at risk by land speculators .i am hoping that county council will contest the ownership of this land  .other councillors in the photo are cllr Janice Payne and cllr Barry palmer both south ward councillors and residents from handle road and May avenue.

Once again. THANK YOU Conservative Councillors!d is still owned by Essex county council not the person officers say .this decision has put all our green spaces at risk by land speculators .i am hoping that county council will contest the ownership of this land  .other councillors in the photo are cllr Janice Payne and cllr Barry palmer both south ward councillors and residents from handle road and May avenue

A water leak for 2 years. Really? Not important for the Tory’s!

Councillors have reported a leak for 2 years at the footpath to the paddocks community hall and Canvey doctors surgeries.this is a very dangerous place in the winter when it freezes a lot of elderly residents use this footpath going to the doctors, Barry palmer and Jane Payne have reported this many times .who is paying for the wasted water?

What is the TORY council doing for Canvey?
