Canvey Island Central
Dear residents, I have been a Central Ward Councillor ,coming up for 14 years now. My wife and I have lived on Canvey Island for 35 years, and in that time have seen many changes. We have poor infrastructure and badly looked after roads, the pot holes keep on reappearing, and we still have surface water flooding problems. Added to that we are being told that we will be getting more and more houses built on the Island.
Major decisions are being made by others who know nothing about Canvey Island. As your Councillor I will continue to fight for Islanders and speak up on your behalf, on all issues that concern you. We have lots to offer in our local environment, the seafront gardens,Thorney Bay and Concord beach, and Canvey West marshes and Canvey Lake. With your support I will continue to make the Islands environment and open spaces better for us all.
Yours truly, Cllr John Anderson
Dear Resident, May I take a few moments of your time to introduce myself to you.
My name is Dave Blackwell and I have represented you on the council for the last 24 years and as a life long Islander I am very proud that so many of you have elected me to represent you over the years. I have been working tirelessly to resolve the main issues which affect you as you go about your daily lives. I have pushed hard to get many roads in this area resurfaced and footpaths reinstated but also, I appreciate there is still a long way to go.
I have been working with all the agencies to help resolve the surface water flooding issues on Canvey too. Working alongside the police to help cut the crime on Canvey. I believe we need to continue our strong independent voice on Canvey and we, the Canvey Island Independent Party can speak out your concerns and stand up against the mainland Tory Councillors who don't seem to care what happens on our beloved Island.
Canvey has many issues and with your vote I would like to carry on fighting to help resolve them. Crime, antisocial behaviour, road infrastructure, over development and many, many more issues that both you and I face each day.
Dear Residents, Having been a member of the Canvey community for most of my life I have seen many changes to our island. Some have been good. Some have been bad. I have found representing the people of Canvey Island an honour. We have great organisations and community groups that do many wonderful things for our island, and it has been a pleasure meeting and working with them
All of my family live on Canvey Island, my mother brother sister, my children, and grandchildren. My pledge to you is I will always fight for Canvey Island and its residents for issues that concern you.
Thank you. Peter May
